Over the past year I got a new job, I lost a sibling to Lymphoma, I got engaged, I was asked to be in two weddings, I turned 27, and I gained 20 pounds. Life happened. It's been beautiful and it's been fucking miserable. It's almost ironic that my account is focused around Joy. But Joy is in my name and we all have to accept that we can't stop living. Life is what brings me Joy.
How does this relate to getting a juicer? It probably doesn't for most people, but it does for me.
I have discovered a new joy in prepping my breakfasts, and creating recipes with the pulp. It has been a bunch of simple changes that have totally changed my mood; I stopped buying breakfast and Starbucks in the morning; I've started losing weight; I don't hit that 2pm slump at work; I cook more when I get home; I have a routine. All of these little changes are making me realize the impact that one simple change can have on someone's day to day perspective.

It's late on a Wednesday night as I write this. My little pit pup Syd is already cozied up in bed next to Wes and as always I will be the last one in bed. I want to share some info about our recent day trip to Salem, MA. Wes and I love finding towns to explore, and being in New England gives us lots of quaint little places to choose from. Day trips don't always need to be jam-packed with sightseeing either. On our most recent trips, Wes and I have spent the majority of our time just taking things in and enjoying each other's company. We like to look at these trips as a way to spend more time together outside of our daily routine.
There is nothing more important than having a few key statement pieces in your wardrobe. Below is my favorite blue Santa Fe Fringe Jacket from Tularosa. While all these other key pieces create a cohesive look, this statement jacket ties together the whole outfit, making it one of a kind. Click the links below to check out the products.

Since starting my blog, I have come across a variety of small businesses and artists that have been so inspiring with their content and business models. Because of their stunning content and products, I decided to start blogging about some of my favorite businesses on Instagram.
Today, I am featuring a socially conscious furniture and textile business that provides handmade pieces from Guatemala and El Salvador. Maya Mueble's business model focuses on cutting out the middle man and working directly with artisans in Guatemala and El Salvador to provide handcrafted products to a broader market while trying to promote economic empowerment in these regions. Their products are chic while offering a traditional handcrafted style. All the textile products are loomed by hand. Check out the photos below and their site for more info! And don't forget to follow them on their Instagram @MAYAMUEBLE
Valentines Day came early this year for Wes. I found the perfect gift for him this holiday, and it's a JORD Wood Watch. Wes has been given watches in the past, but this is a truly unique watch. The Dover Zebrawood & Dark Sandalwood men's watch is the option I chose for Wes. The design is sleek but complex while maintaining a rustic but chic style perfect for a man of New England. JORD has a variety of options for both men and women, all of which the designs offer a unique sense of style.
The holiday season is finally here (man, did this year fly by)! I wanted to make sure I posted this as everyone begins shopping for gifts, preparing family dinners, and sending out their holiday cards. Sometimes its hard to get it all together to send out those yearly holiday cards, but what can be better than receiving those seasonal cards in the mail!? You never know who it will be from, or what will be on the card! One of the best ways to make sending out snail mail even more memorable is to support smaller businesses or local designers when looking to purchase your oh so adorable holiday cards. This year, I got my holiday cards from Lane Paper Works. They do greeting cards, custom illustrations, and even have other little goodies you can pick up online. I love the holiday cards that I received from them and it is so much more original than picking up a stack of mass produced cards from your local superstore. Do yourself, and all your family and friends a favor by thinking outside the box this holiday season by investing in a creative way to spread holiday joy!
Recently, I went on a friend-date to the nearby MFA Boston to meet my girl Erica Whiteside to discuss our blogging ambitions and working together on collaborations. We reminisced about experiencing the MFA in undergrad, (I studied art history BU and she studied design at Suffolk). It was the perfect setting for sipping coffee, snapping a few candid shots, and viewing the America's wing as we went over our plans for both our sites. She wore all black and looked chic as always, while rocking some Sam Edelman booties. I went for a classic Moto Jacket and jeans with brown suede booties. Check out some of our photos from the MFA and the links below for some inspiration on what to wear to your next friend date!
